Welcome to our website. We would like to share resources which may be useful to mothers who have lost their children via adoption. This includes a guide to support mothers making their own artist’s books.
This bookmaking tutorial accompanies our artist’ book guide which you can download below. In the tutorial, book artist Tina Lyon demonstrates how to make a simple artist’s book. Tina starts with a stitched book and proceeds to demonstrate two types of folded books. For those who want to explore more advanced bookmaking techniques, you can watch additional videos here: https://research.kent.ac.uk/artistsbooks/how-to-make-an-artists-book/
This guide includes prompts, diagrams and images, developed through our research project, so that you can make an artist’s book to explore feelings and experiences. It can be used individually or to plan a group activity. We recommend using this guide alongside the instruction video and other resources on this website, such as the images of artists’ books that you will find in our gallery.
Below is a button for our resources feedback form, clicking this link will take you to our Jotform page. We appreciate and value all feedback that we receive so if you can spare a few minutes to fill this in it will help guide us as we continue with this project.
